The purpose of Temple Isaiah Networking (TIN) is to provide Temple Isaiah members with an online forum for networking purposes. "Networking" can mean one or more of the following:
- Posting job opportunities from companies you work at or know that are hiring.
- Posting "personal want ads" and "60-second summaries" for people looking for work.
- Requesting assistance for contacts at target companies, either for job searching or informational networking.
- Requesting assistance for general business networking to create alliances that will lead to more customers for small businesses or sole proprietors.
- Requesting assistance for resume critiques, advice on job searching, salary negotiation, etc.
- Posting announcements for networking related events at the temple and from other temples and groups.
The online forum for TIN is a LinkedIn group called "Temple Isaiah of Lexington Networking". To join, search for the name of the group in the LinkedIn groups directory. Once you find the group, you can send in a request to join.
When submitting your request, it would be helpful to identify yourself as a Temple member. And while the group is moderated by more than one person, your request may not be acted upon immediately, but it will be acted upon in a reasonable time frame.
Networks are only as good as the people who are part of them. If you are on LinkedIn already, we encourage you to join TIN, even if you are not actively looking for a new job. Temple Isaiah is a large and vibrant community, and networking forums like LinkedIn are just one way members can stay in touch with, and help each other.
For specific questions about networking activities at the Temple, you can contact the LinkedIn moderators through the LinkedIn site, or you can contact Barry Tuber, Brotherhood's Vice President, at tuberb@verizon.net.
