Brotherhood meeting October 13, 2011,
7:00 p.m.
The October brotherhood meeting will be held Thursday October 13 th at 7:00. Brotherhood meets each month, to plan and manage its activities. All congregants (male or female) are welcome to this month's meeting, which will be a pot-luck dinner held at the home of a Brotherhood member. A great, low-key way to meet new people and learn about the range of Brotherhood activities and consider how you might want to get involved. Fall Photo Hike, October 15, 2011, 8-11 a.m.
On Saturday October 15th from 8-11AM join Temple member Scott Farber, owner of Hunt’s Photo and Video, and Bob Watts of Nikon for an inspirational Photo Tour of the Lexington Area’s landscapes and historic sites! Bring your camera, friends, and family for a fun morning of picture taking. Nikon will also be providing a limited amount of free loaner equipment for those who don’t have a camera or want to try some of the latest camera gear. This event is for all levels of photographer’s from beginner to professional. We will meet at the Temple parking lot on Saturday Morning October 15th at 7:45am for some quick instructions and then head out for the day. The tour will have 3 stops:
- 8am- The Old North Bridge (Concord)
- 9am – Minute Man National Park
- 10am- Lexington Green
The event is free to all Temple Members, their family, and guests.

Brotherhood Breakfast Sunday, October 16, 2010, at 9:15 (NEW TIME) Featuring Allen Sinai
Please join us on Sunday October 16th at 9:15 AM as we kick off the 2011-2012 Brotherhood Beakfast series with our own Allen Sinai as the guest speaker.
Dr. Sinai has frequently been in the news media and over many years has appeared on numerous national television programs such as CNBC's Street Sight, Power Lunch, Squawk Box, Bloomberg's On The Economy, World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, Good Morning America, Moneyline, Nightline, the Today Show, CBS Morning News, ABC Nightly News, Today's Business, Ahead of the Curve, This Week With David Brinkley, Face the Nation, and Wall Street Week. He has been a member of the Time Magazine Board of Economists. In 1992, Dr. Sinai was selected as one of the ten "Smartest People" in Boston by Boston Magazine. Time Magazine has said of him, "Anyone who thinks economics is a dismal science has never been treated to the vivid commentaries of Allen Sinai."
He has served a wide a variety of organizations and decision-makers in the U.S. and abroad, as an analyst, forecaster, educator, and economic policy, strategy, and financial markets advisor. He is currently Chief Global Economist/Strategist and President of Decision Economics, Inc., which has locations in New York, Boston, and London. Allen received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and a Doctorate in Economics from Northwestern University. He has received numerous awards, served on faculties at MIT, New York University, Boston University, Brandeis University, and the University of Illinois. He and his wife Lee Sinai live in Lexington where they have also raised two children, Todd and Lauren, and they have five grandchildren.

Sukkah disassembly October 23, 2011, 9:00-10:30 p.m.
What goes up must come down, Join us Sunday October 23 at 9:00 a.m. for the annual Sukkah Building. This year we we will be attempting to take down the new Sukkah for the first time, so the possibilities (for comedy) are endless. 
They put it up, help us take it down.
Brotherhood Breakfast Sunday, November 6, 2010, at 9:15 Featuring Dr. Paul Hattis MD JD MPF, PACPM
"Healthcare in Massachusetts: Will High Costs Sabotage Reform?"
His presentation will briefly discuss some of the historical aspects and issues surrounding the 2006 Massachusetts Health Care Reform Law, its resultant effects on reducing the uninsured in MA, as well as the law’s impact in helping to shape the 2010 federal legislation. Dr. Hattis will then focus most of his discussion time on the range of issues surrounding current health care cost challenges—both in the US and the particular challenges in Massachusetts. He will then outline a number of ideas being put forward to help reduce the growth of health care costs in Massachusetts and discuss some of the controversies swirling around this important policy issue.

On Saturday December 17th, at 7:00 PM, Brotherhood will be staging a Temple-wide musical event, featuring you!
If you are a performer and are interested in doing a number or two in front of your family and friends in a coffee house setting, then please contact us atbrotherhood@templeisaiah.net. Individual or small groups are welcome, and we encourage anyone of high school age and up who would like to perform, regardless of skill or experience, to talk to us about the event.
We expect that admission to the event will be free to all Temple members. We're starting to identify the folks who will be performing, and we hope you'll get in touch.
