8th - 12th grade students are encouraged to participate in Temple Isaiah’s Madrichim Program (student teacher program). Student teachers are present in religious school classrooms (K-3) on Sundays and/or Thursdays. Madrichim are also extensively utilized at Temple Isaiah’s 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade kallot. Sign up information for the kallot will be made available to students closer to the events. Madrichim sign-up information is e-mailed to 8th –12th grade parents and students over the summer. According to Abraham Joshua Heschel, “What we need more than anything else is not more text books but textpeople. It is the personality of the teacher that the pupils read; the text they will never forget.” Our student teachers are incredible textpeople for our young students. As a student teacher, our teens are challenged to become role models while also developing their teaching and leadership skills.
