A new “GIRLS ONLY” group at Temple Isaiah with monthly gatherings for 9th & 10th grade girls to talk, learn, eat, connect with each other, themselves, and Judaism. More specifically, Rosh Hodesh: it's a girl thing! is a values-based and experiential Jewish program for teenage girls that strengthens self-esteem and Jewish identity. Rosh Hodesh draws on Jewish teachings and traditions to keep girls healthy and whole—despite the aspects of popular culture that encourage risky behaviors. The program meets girls where they are, with engaging discussion, crafts, and drama that integrate Jewish teachings to help girls grapple with the issues they care about most — such as body image, friendship, relationships, competition, stress and family.
