The Sisterhood of Temple Isaiah is the collective presence, voice, and strength (within the congregation) of its women members. Its exciting yearly calendar is filled with events to appeal to spiritual, educational, social, family, and organizational interests. Sisterhood membership includes membership in the national Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ), 75,000 women from over 500 synagogues in North America and around the world.

Sisterhood invites every woman in the congregation to become a member, to participate in its activities, and to become a leader. Toward that goal, Sisterhood offers women new to the congregation a complimentary one-year membership.

The mission of Sisterhood is to bring together the women of Temple Isaiah to serve our Temple, support our community, and enrich our lives through personal growth and friendship. We strive to foster and further the highest ideals of Judaism. We accomplish this mission through social and educational programs, worship, fundraising, community service, and involvement with the Women of Reform Judaism. Our activities, enhanced by the richness of our diversity, further our commitment to Jewish ideals, education, spirituality, social action, and leadership development.

Membership

Your membership dues support our district and national WRJ, giving you a voice and making a difference in Jewish causes around the world. As our numbers increase, our collective voice resonates for important causes and our contributions make a difference. Count Yourself In! You may become a member of Sisterhood simply by asking. Pay whatever is comfortable for you.

When you arrived at Temple Isaiah or wanted to join a Sisterhood, Temple Isaiah Sisterhood was here to welcome you. Your mothers, aunts, sisters and generations past created Sisterhood and left if for you. We are asking you to add links to the chain so Sisterhood will be here for the women to come.

We'd love to have you consider Sisterhood and the Y.E.S. Fund of Women of Reform Judaism for your annual giving. All donations are tax deductible.

Sign up by clicking on the link below.  Payment (if any) can be made by check or credit card.

Each fall, all Sisterhood members who have registered for the year are invited to attend the Membership Supper for free, but you must still RSVP! We are all looking forward to what is always a fun evening and hope to see many of you there.

All registered members will receive an emailed invitation about a month prior to the event.  The date for 2017 is Thursday, November 9.

Women's Weekend Away

Every year or two, Sisterhood hosts a Women's Weekend Away, a weekend of fellowship, learning and, mostly, FUN!  The dates for 2018 are January 19 - 21.  Our destination this year is BOSTON!  Look for details in the Winter newsletter published at the beginning of December, and in your weekly Sisterhood News e-blast.

Sisterhood Circles

Are you interested in board games? Books? Dog walking? Walking? Mah jongg? Yiddish? "Circles” provide us with opportunities to connect with other Sisterhood members while doing activities that we enjoy. See Sisterhood Newsletters for details of what's happening and how to participate.

Newsletters

To provide information for the Sisterhood Newsletter, contact the VP Sisterhood Communications.

Sisterhood volunteers produce three hard-copy newsletters each year to keep in touch with our membership.  Increasingly, we communicate via emailed e-blasts, and other electronic means.  Please join our e-list by clicking on this link.  We promise not to overload your email inbox!
