Those of us in our 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond can count ourselves as part of a history-making generation and pioneers in understanding how to make the most of our lives. The Wise Aging program provides support & resources to live the later years with spirit, resilience and wisdom.

We will explore some of the deep questions presented by this stage of our lives. We will be using stories, questions, scientific research and our personal reflections that enable us to come to new understandings about our lives, ourselves, and our values. Our discussions are informed by selected reading from the Bible, Talmud, and Hassidic stories, as well as contemporary writings by May Sarton, Silvia Borstein, Rabbi Zalman Schacter Shalomi and many others. Learning modalities include small and large group discussions, reflective listening, meditation and dyads.

Topics include:

  • Opportunity Paradigm
  • Explore Attitudes Towards our Bodies
  • The River of Life: Reflecting on our past and creating our future
  • Cultivating Nourishing Relationships
  • Friendships and Family

The cost for the program is $90/person, payable upon registration. Temple Isaiah members who log in to their Temple Isaiah account before registration can opt to charge the program fee to their bill.

Participants will need to get a small journal for their personal use and purchase the book Wise Aging, by Rachel Cowan and Linda Thal.  Purchase Wise Aging Here
