Over the past three years, we have been blessed to have this amazing $1.8M matching gift opportunity thanks to the extraordinary generosity and support of the Lavine family, who have been longtime Isaiah members.

Together, as a congregation, we have increased our philanthropic participation at all giving levels and are able to say that as of December 1, we have just $133,000 to go to unlock the full matching gift by December 31.

It is our responsibility to carry our synagogue forward, to fulfill our commitment to one another in helping Isaiah thrive for ourselves, our children, our grandchildren, and generations to come.

Philanthropy is about relationships, people, compassion, justice, community. We encourage you to take a moment to reflect on what Isaiah has meant and means to you, and how you can play a role in shaping its future.

We invite you to make a gift today by selecting one of the below current pressing needs to Isaiah’s Annual Fund.

  • SecurityThe safety and security of our congregational family is our absolute highest priority. We have made significant improvements to our security measures in the past year. Moving forward, it has become necessary to expand and maintain significantly increased security measures. Temple Isaiah is investing in the security needed to best protect our synagogue, and additional support and partnership from congregants will be key in ensuring ongoing safety and preparedness.

  • EngagementDr. Ron Wolfson, in his book “Relational Judaism,” keenly observes that “What really matters is that we care about the people we seek to engage.” As part of the Isaiah community, whether as a family with grown children, or a young family looking to find their place in a Jewish community, finding connections and building relationships for our congregants are at the core of all that Isaiah does. Programs such as the small interest groups through Isaiah Together, or larger ones like Shabbat Together or Tot Shabbat, aim to reach people where they are and provide meaningful engagement options.

  • EducationTemple Isaiah is known for its innovation and inclusivity when it comes to education, both for children and adults. For our children, innovation means introducing a new way to learn Hebrew through ‘Hebrew Through Movement’ (HTM). HTM is a language acquisition program that introduces Hebrew in a playful and meaningful way, creating a positive first link between children and Hebrew. Isaiah also addresses the needs of diverse learners and those who need extra support, which is approximately 25% of the student body for grades K-7. Many of these children are able to come to Isaiah for their Jewish education because of Isaiah’s robust inclusivity initiatives and efforts. For adults, Isaiah hosts an Inclusion Shabbat, a Yom Hatzmaut party with K’Sharim, offers rides to members to say mourners kaddish or attend an Isaiah event, and provides live-streaming for those with limited mobility.

Every new and increased gift will be matched, thanks to our current $1.8M matching gift opportunity.
