About our Funds - Temple Isaiah

Areas of Greatest Need

Isaiah Annual Fund: Provides unrestricted funds for the general operation of the temple.

Education

Adult Education Fund: Supports the development of innovative adult education programming and helps to bring scholars of exceptional talent to Temple Isaiah’s Scholar’s Weekend.

Heidi Tyson Fund for Teenage Social Justice Initiatives: Supports teen participation in annual travel experiences that empower them to be leaders in social justice, and provides funds for teen leaders to use towards social justice projects of their choosing.

LEFTY Fund: Supports LEFTY, Temple Isaiah's NFTY affiliated high school youth group.

Library Fund: Supports acquisition of new materials for the library.

Monica Weinstein Student in Israel Fund: Provides financial assistance for students in the congregation who are participating in Israel study and travel programs.

Marshall Derby Children’s Event Fund: Provides funding for an annual concert or event.

Religious School Fund: Allows the religious school to implement new and innovative programs and helps students with scholarships to retreats and programs they might otherwise be unable to attend.

Synagogue Education Fund: A general fund that supports all congregational education.

Community

Gershanoff Outreach and Interfaith Fund: Provides funding for outreach and interfaith activities.

Synagogue Community Fund: Supports community initiatives and programs.

Tikkun Olam

Mental Health Initiative: Supports educational programs, opportunities for advocacy, and training sessions to bring the issue of mental health challenges into the open.

Tikkun Olam Fund: Supports those in need in our community and around the world.

Welcoming the Stranger: Supports a refugee family or individual throughout their resettlement experience.

Worship

Drew Micah Smerling Tot Shabbat Fund: Supports Tot Shabbat activities.

Music Fund: Provides money to enhance programs and related items of musical interest to the temple community.

Synagogue Worship Fund: A general fund that supports community worship.

Facilities

Synagogue Facilities & Security Fund: A general fund that supports the maintenance and security of the building.

Discretionary

Cantor Doob Discretionary Fund: Allows the Cantor to support religious, musical, charitable and educational causes of her choosing.

Rabbi Battis Discretionary Fund: Allows the Rabbi to support religious, charitable and educational causes of her choosing.

Rabbi Jaffe Discretionary Fund: Allows the Rabbi Emeritus to support religious, charitable and educational causes of his choosing.

Rabbi Thomashow Discretionary Fund: Allows the Rabbi to support religious, charitable and educational causes of her choosing.

Endowment

L'Dor VaDor Cushner Youth Enrichment Fund: Distributions are used to provide funding for early childhood education at Temple Isaiah.

L'Dor VaDor Unrestricted Endowment Fund: Annual distributions are made to the general operating budget, supporting the cost of operating the temple.
