LEARN > Families with Young Children
Temple Isaiah is bustling with experiences for Families with Young Children! The congregation offers a vast variety of ongoing programs as well as one-time events, both at the temple, in the town of Lexington, and in neighboring communities. Current members and those seeking a connection to a Jewish community are invited to share and explore these Jewish experiences together.
Families with Young Children events are announced via our email list and posted on Facebook! You do not need to be a member of Temple Isaiah to participate in Families with Young Children programming, so please invite friends and family as well!
Tot Shabbat & Shabbat Club
Each lively Tot Shabbat service includes candle lighting, an age-appropriate Shabbat service, and lots of singing! Services last about 30 minutes and are appropriate for families with children ages 0 - 6 (older siblings are welcome).
At the same time there is also a joyful Shabbat Club service, specifically designed for students in K-5th grade. Special kid-friendly prayer books are used, and children have the chance to learn about prayers and Shabbat in a family-friendly way.
After the services, everyone joins together for a free family dinner, crafts, play and a chance to meet other local families with children. Typically held on the first Friday of each month at 5:45pm. Check the Families with Young Children Calendar to confirm.
Jewish Holiday Celebrations
Engaging young family programs are held for a variety of holidays including Rosh Hashanah, Simchat Torah, Hanukkah, Tu B’Shevat, Purim and Passover.
