Chanukah Story & Art Experience
This year’s Chanukah celebrations feature a special multi-part Marshall Derby Family Event, made possible by the generosity of the Derby family in memory of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Marshall Derby. The fund annually brings creativity, fun, and deep Jewish engagement to our children and their families. This year’s activities will also appeal to the larger Temple Isaiah community as well!

Part of this year's Marshall Derby Family Event features the renowned storyteller, Cindy Rivka Marshall. Cindy dazzles with her stories and is appropriate for all ages, including adults. Cindy has performed stories and presented workshops since 1989 throughout New England, nationally and in England, at festivals, conferences, schools, libraries, synagogues, churches and community groups.
Havdalah and Chanukah Candle-Lighting will be led by Rabbi Maimin and Cantor Doob.
Chanukah Mosaic and Artist Talks
We invite you to join an innovative, hands-on project, led by artist Audrey Markoff and made possible by the Marshall Derby Family Event Fund. Working from our homes (and, if you wish, together over zoom) we will create a beautiful new mosaic that will hang at the Temple. No artistic skill necessary!

Audrey Markoff is a Boston Jewish artist who promotes collaborative art through her studio SoWa Mosaics. She has created a special page just about our Temple Isaiah Mosaic project!
Here's how it works:
- Sign up for your kit to be picked up at Temple Isaiah, here. There is no charge for the kit. Registration for a kit closes on Sunday, December 6.
- Contactless pick-up of mosaic kits (alternative times or delivery available upon request, email Jodi Seewald Smith to arrange)

Thursday, December 10, 8:30 - 10:30 am
Friday, December 11, 10:00 - 12:00 pm - If you'd like, meet the artist over Zoom for tips and inspiration and to learn more about Audrey's art and the production of a mosaic.
- Return your kit to Temple Isaiah for Audrey to create a full-sized mosaic with everyone's art by January 6. And when the time is right, come to the Temple to see the finished mosaic and find your family's contribution!
