Matt Emmer

Engagement Specialist

Matt Emmer is a passionate Jewish learner and informal educator who has joined the Temple Isaiah Staff as Engagement Specialist, with a focus on families with young children and adults without children at home. Growing up in the Hudson Valley of New York, Matt was active at his temple and in NFTY, the Reform youth movement, as well as environmental advocacy, developing a deep sense of community service and activism. He is also a proud alumnus of URJ Eisner camp, where he spent 14 summers as a camper, counselor, and head songleader. Matt is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester, where he studied English and Jewish Studies. During that time, he served a variety of communities across New England as a song leader and educator. Matt is eager to use his diverse experiences at camps and congregations to create and maintain meaningful and accessible programs across the congregation. He lives in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and enjoys good food, talking about literature, and seeing live music.
