Religious School Cell Phone Policy

At Temple Isaiah, one of the 5 pillars of our Sh’ma/Vision Statement is Relationships.  In order to enhance connection and community, it is our goal to cultivate face-to-face relationships between teachers and students.  Students are not allowed to use cell phones during our program. This includes class time, as well as dinner time, community time, t’fillah (services) and other breaks. We strongly recommend that students leave their cell phones at home. If your child needs to bring a cell phone to religious school, it should be turned off and either placed in a bag or given to your child's teacher to be placed in a holder until the end of the day. If a student is seen using a cell phone while at temple, it will be collected by a teacher and will be returned at dismissal. If a student needs to make a phone call during the program, they may ask to use the phone at the desk inside the temple office. If you need to reach your child during the program, please call the Temple Isaiah office at 781-862-7160 and we will be able to find or get a message to them. Please do NOT plan to communicate with your child via text or cell phone during the program.  In case of emergency, one of our staff will reach out to you using the phone numbers on file.
