Project Ezra

Holidays can be challenging times for families who find themselves financially strapped. Project Ezra, a longstanding partnership between Temple Isaiah and Temple Shir Tikvah in Winchester helps many families by making and delivering delicious home-cooked Christmas meals. We ask families to prepare a component of the meal at home and bring it into the Temple Isaiah kitchen where we organize and pack up the dinners for delivery. There are opportunities for everyone to participate.

Every year, usually on December 24, we gather in the Temple Isaiah kitchen and prepare a full Christmas dinner for approximately 80 families in need as designated by local area social service agencies. This is a great family-friendly, fun, and rewarding project, and we could use your help! You can come in to prep, carve the turkey breast, assemble the meals, help your children decorate bags for the meals, and deliver meals. To sign up and to view the recipes, click on the link below:

Donate online by selecting "Social Action-Tzedakah" from the "Fund" menu and writing "Project Ezra" in the "payment notes."  Checks can be made payable to Temple Isaiah, (please write "Project Ezra" in the memo line), and sent to Temple Isaiah, 55 Lincoln St, Lexington, MA 02421.
