Project Ezra

Holidays can be challenging times for families, seniors, and veterans who are designated as in need by local social service agencies. Project Ezra, a longstanding partnership between Temple Isaiah and Temple Shir Tikvah in Winchester helps by preparing and delivering delicious home-cooked Christmas meals. We ask volunteers to prepare a component of the meal at home and bring it to the Temple Isaiah kitchen where we organize, pack up, and deliver the dinners. There are opportunities for everyone to participate.

Every year usually on the morning of December 24, we gather in the Temple Isaiah kitchen and pack up approximately 525 full Christmas dinners that include turkey, gravy, stuffing, potatoes, peas, cranberry sauce, fruit, and cookies. This is a family-friendly, fun, and rewarding project, and we need your help! You can come in to prep, carve the turkey breast, assemble the meals, help your children decorate bags for the meals, and deliver meals. Check back in the fall for the link to sign up and view recipes.
