Wise Aging

Those of us in our fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond can count ourselves as part of a history-making generation and pioneers in understanding how to make the most of our lives. These years of aging are full of opportunities for learning, growth and finding new meanings and connections. The Wise Aging program provides support and resources to live the later years with spirit, resilience, and wisdom.

We will explore some of the deep questions presented by this stage of our lives. We will be using stories, questions, scientific research and our personal reflections that enable us to come to new understandings about our lives, ourselves, and our values. Our discussions are informed by selected reading from the Bible, Talmud, and Hassidic stories, as well as contemporary writings by May Sarton, Silvia Borstein, Rabbi Zalman Schacter Shalomi and many others. Learning modalities include small and large group discussions, reflective listening, meditation and dyads.

Topics include:

Opportunity Paradigm

Explore Attitudes Towards our Bodies

The River of Life: Reflecting on our past and creating our future

Cultivating Nourishing Relationships

Friendships and Family

Please email Debbie Marty if you are interested in joining our next Wise Aging program.
