About Rabbi Hertz

Rabbi Hertz has served Temple Isaiah with creativity and joyful leadership since 2012. Known for her warmth and deep relational nature, Rabbi Hertz is passionate about supporting people on their Jewish journeys. Prior to serving Temple Isaiah, she served as the Associate Rabbi at Rodef Shalom Congregation in Pittsburgh, PA, where she held distinction as a compassionate pastor, excellent teacher, and effective leader. Rabbi Hertz is a graduate of Northwestern University where she studied Mathematics and Economics. Rabbi Hertz was ordained in 2008 from Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati and received her master's in Jewish Education, also from HUC-JIR, in 2020.

In her role as the Director of Congregational Learning, Rabbi Hertz oversees and supports all learning within the congregation including Families with Young Children, Religious School, Teen Education, and Adult Learning. Rabbi Hertz also advises our committees, Brotherhood, and Sisterhood, in bringing meaningful Jewish learning to all that we do as a community. She is grateful to work with an extraordinary education team to help bring to life engaging and relevant Jewish learning at Temple Isaiah.
