About Betsy

Betsy has been a Jewish professional for over two decades, first as an educational administrator in congregations, museums, and at URJ Crane Lake Camp, and now as a philanthropy specialist. She was most recently Area Director for Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana at AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Betsy earned her bachelor’s at Dartmouth College and a master’s in both Jewish Nonprofit Management and Jewish Education at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute for Religion, Los Angeles, CA. She also studied fundraising for nonprofit organizations at the Spertus Institute in Chicago.

Betsy’s role as the Director of Philanthropy enables her to strengthen and grow our culture of philanthropy, a relationship-based effort to ensure that all members feel connected to the congregation and are valued members of the community. She works with the Vice President of Philanthropy, the Finance Committee, and other synagogue stakeholders to integrate our values into our revenue model and coordinate congregational fundraising efforts, providing support for and access to resources.
